I live in a tiny house I call, Ugly Bug Cottage in the company of Caila, a 5-year old Pembroke Corgi, & umpteen other critters including six parrots and a delightful cat named, Jennabelle. There are of course lots of wonderful olde bears, dolls and toy rabbits that live here also, with lofty comforters on the beds, lace in the windows, and stacks and shelves of books everywhere. My studio sits just down the path & is filled with paper and pens, paints and brushes, buttons and baubles, me in the middle of it ... and all of this surrounded by gardens. I have been writing & illustrating for children for as long as my memory can take me back. My days oft find me within an enchanted world which exists between real and imagine. Where faeries play in the cupboards, mice live in rolltop desks & tend to shoppes in glass slippers. Where little bears curl up with baby squirrels & sleep with ghost kittens in baskets at my feet. It is a place where life is tied with Heartstrings ... I couldn't be happier. |
