a dream is a wish your heart makes

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do

Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star

true friendship knows no bounds

WatsonTarraDo you remember my post,
 love is blind?

Maybe you were moved. Perhaps it made you think & even ::sigh:: a little seeing such acceptance of others on face value. Loving someone just for who they are inside, not the outside ...

Then have I got something for you. Wait until you see this!

Something else to believe in ...

Doesn't get much clearer than that, does it ::sigh::

=::= I must share one of the hundreds of touching messages sent to Ned (he has his own mailbox at the sanctuary) ... a shining example of hope for the future ... pure and heartfelt.

Dear Ned,
My aunt showed me your pictures and we love you. I bought a watermelon for you at the store but you too far away to eat it, so we are sending you $20 to buy melons at your store by your house. I hope you can buy 5 or 4 melons and give one piece to the dog friends. I love you very much and hope you get better soon
Happy Thanksgiving

the faerie tree

Faeriehouses3

They make you believe in things not seen.

Faerie Trees. Do you have one near to you?

They are easy to spot. They are knurled and burly.

Faerietree2x I have a faerie tree.

Mine actually sits right next to the back north corner of my cottage. It is an ancient apple tree with lovely burls all over it. I have since meeting mine, learned that most Faerie Trees are fond of water close to them.

They grow near water. It's the geopathic-stress/electro-magnetic energy that causes the knots of burls ... It attracts cats, makes ivy grow prolifically. You might see cracks in the foundation of buildings near a geopathic stress line. But the water is underground.

When I bought my cottage a city water main broke causing horrid troubles with water everywhere and washing out the soil under the house. When the men came to repair the water main, they told me the tree must be taken if the roots were the problem. That my cottage would be damaged if anymore soil washed away.

Faeriehouses

I bought my cottage mostly because of the trees.

So I made them dig carefully and LOOK first at the roots to be sure they were the cause. Do you believe in magic? The men were out there all gathered around the hole they'd dug and talking about what they found. Seems my trees roots had grown with several inches clearance AROUND, under and over, then continued PAST the water main. Huge roots had turned on a dime and changed direction to miss the underground line without ever touching it. One of the men stood there with shovel in hand remarking: "It's as if someone directed the tree to do that!"

It was more than the tree's roots missing the water line that baffled the men. Not just that they had gone around the water line as if on purpose not to cause damage, but ...

The huge root had gone around the main then grown to the corner of the cottage and branching out, was supporting the corner in place. The men told me without the tree roots EXACTLY as they had grown, my cottage would have shifted with serious structural damage. My entire house would have moved and essentially, fallen into a hole, in that very spot.

The Faerie tree was holding up the cottage until we found the problem and could pour a support under. Magic? Could be.

Faerietree2xx Of course I knew the truth of why.

The faeries were returning kindness.

At least that's what I choose to believe.

My tree has a little hole in the knot of the trunk where it splits. It is perfect to tuck good things inside of ... Offerings I guess. Things to share with the fae and the wee creatures they allow in the tree. I have since I bought the cottage, oft placed things inside the knot. No reason, except I liked to do so. It amused me. I would play make-believe as I tucked something within for the faeries to find.

Then (and still now) whatever I place there, it always is taken. Buttons, babbles, notes or food. The only thing ever to remain, and still does to this day is a big piece of cow jawbone for the squirrels to chew. I guess the faeires understand the squirrels need it there.

Faeriehouses2

So yes. When someone asks? I believe in faeries.
